The Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) made history as Asia's first international convention center, setting a trend that led other countries to build their own.

Designed by Leandro V. Locsin, a Filipino National Artist in Architecture, the PICC Complex formally opened on September 5, 1976.

An architectural landmark on its own, housing works of various Filipino master artists in painting and sculpture, it opened in 1976 to host the World Bank-International Monetary Fund annual meeting. After this , the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) established itself as one of the most versatile event arenas in the Asia Pacific region by being the venue of political summits, medical conventions, and concerts of international artists as varied as Luciano Pavarotti, the Bolshoi Ballet, and Josh Groban.

Built on reclaimed land along scenic Manila Bay in the Philippine capital, the PICC has more than 60,000 square meters of floor area and a range of facilities that can accommodate almost any gathering of any size.

The PICC has five (5) building modules, the Delegation Building, Secretariat Building, Plenary Hall, Reception Hall and The PICC Forum. Spaces herein are versatile enough to be transformed into almost any number of settings for any kind of exhibition, convention or event.

The five-storey Delegation Building houses meeting rooms, banquet halls, office spaces and lounges that can accommodate different groups.

A low-slung bridge through tropical gardens connects to the Plenary Hall and Reception Hall, which can accommodate people in a theatre-like arrangement.

The Reception Hall can accommodate 2,500 guests for a sit-down dinner or 5,000 for a cocktail reception.

At the southern end of the PICC complex is the Secretariat Building, which houses more meeting rooms, exhibition areas, a media centre, an executive fine dining restaurant and a cafeteria for 500 people.

Also found within the complex is The PICC Forum, a multipurpose facility with raw space that can be redesigned easily to suit an organizer's needs. It is popular in use for exhibitions & special events.

The PICC Forum has a total usable area of over 4,000 square meters capable of housing more than 200 standard exhibition booths. It can also accommodate up to 3,000 delegates in a theatre-style seating arrangement and has support facilities such as a VIP lounge and secretariat room.

The PICC is now undergoing an upgrading and rehabilitation program that includes refurbishing of exiting facilities, the addition of new high-ceiling meeting rooms and dining halls at the fourth and fifth floors of the Delegation Building, and the installation of high-tech equipment and facilities.

Even the PICC courtyards and gardens are being given facelifts to accommodate outdoor receptions and functions.

Strategically located, PICC is at the heart of Manila, a few minutes drive from Ninoy Aquino International Airport, close to major hotels and exciting nightlife. Regionally, Manila is a short hop from Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, China, Korea and Japan.

At the PICC, organizers of international, regional, and local events are assured that their meetings, conventions, exhibitions, and special events are served with world-class conferencing equipment and facilities by professionals distinguished by their efficiency as much as by their legendary warmth and hospitality.
