JOB SUMMARY

The Accounting Officer shall establish and maintain accounting system and records including books of accounts, journals, ledgers, subsidiary ledgers for the proper recording of day-to-day financial transactions of the office. This also includes interpretation of results for management decision-making. Reviews all accounting matters before submission to the Comptroller for signature and approval.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Supervise and monitors regularly the performance of the Accounting Unit.
  2. Coordinates with other departments/divisions/offices of PICCI for prompt and accurate accounting of financial transactions.
  3. Implements internal revenue regulations on withholding of taxes of source (income, franchise, and value added tax).
  4. Checks and verifies monthly bank reconciliation statements.
  5. Conforms to PICCI policies, rules, and regulations.
  6. Ensures proper upkeep of work area and equipment assigned to him/her.
  7. Ensures coordination and harmonious relations within the Office of the Comptroller and with other departments/division/offices.
  8. Directs, guides, trains, motivates staff directly supervised and evaluates their performance.
  9. Within established limits of authority, performs various administrative functions, such as reviewing and approving transaction, disbursements and others.

 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE

 Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience and at least one (1) year supervisory experience

Skills:

  • Knowledgeable on the different phases of accounting operations;
  • Knowledgeable on government policies and regulations;
  • Knowledgeable on taxation and generally accepted accounting principles;
  • Knowledgeable on the preparation of financial statements
