50th Anniversary Message of the General Manager

My warmest, heartfelt congratulations to the PICC and the PICCI.

Today, we celebrate FIFTY GOLDEN YEARS. We commemorate five decades of faithfulness, patriotism, and gold-standard excellence in the service of our country and countrymen.

From our historic 1976 inception to our 2026 restored, beautiful and golden state, the PICC has been the symbol of Filipino genius, pride, heritage, culture and passion.

We are a National Treasure.

We are the Nation’s Pride.

We are the foremost symbol of what CAN be done when we put all of our efforts into giving life to a beautiful vision.

The 5th of September will forever be the day the Philippines realized the DREAM that was, and is, THE PICC.

And now, painstakingly restored, the PICC is at the frontline once again. In a time of clear global need for international dialogue and cooperation, it is our great honor to host the 49th Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit in our hallowed halls.

As we continue to bring people together in the domestic and global stage, we quietly labor in FAITHFUL, TRANSPARENT, ACCOUNTABLE and EXCELLENT PUBLIC SERVICE. And as we steadfastly work, we strengthen trust not just in government, but in our very selves: in our abilities, our motivations, in how and why we do what we do.

Through this beautifully restored building and its dedicated, selfless people, we hope to inspire and unite, to continue our simple dream to stone by stone, spark by spark, and spine by spine help people believe in the GOODNESS, and we daresay perhaps even in the GREATNESS, of PHILIPPINE GOVERNMENT.

This dream will not be kept alive without the tireless work of our family: the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and our Board of Directors – Chairman and BSP Governor Eli, who has strengthened this public institution; Vice Chair Berna, who has guided us in all we do; Directors Rhio, Goody, Marj and Ricki, who have gone above and beyond to ensure our welfare and growth; the PICC Management, Deputy Mitch, Director Ed, Director Melan and Director Javi, who have led us by solid example; the PICC’s most hardworking employees, our people, who with unseen hands have made us into what we are now; and the family and team of the late, great Lindy Locsin, who we continue to work with to honor our historic heritage.

We thank as well our indispensable partners: the Philippine Government, headed by His Excellency, President Bongbong Marcos, Jr., and the Honorable First Lady Liza Marcos, our light and guide in continuing this greatest of national legacies, and our public and private sector stakeholders, who breathe life into our beautiful, enduring story.

We thank everyone for the trust, support and love given to our shared legacy. You are all part of this living dream.

And now, to our beloved Philippines, in this commemoration of our fifty golden years, we say:

THE BEST IS YET TO COME.
