The Philippine International Convention Center, Inc. (PICCI) supported the nationwide
observance of National Women’s Month from March 1 to 31, 2025, reaffirming its
commitment to gender equality and the empowerment of women in the workplace and in
the community. Throughout the month, PICCI implemented a series of initiatives designed
to promote awareness of women’s rights and highlight the importance of an inclusive and
supportive environment.
The activities included the following:
Purple PICC
The Delegation Building facade and the Anito sculpture by National Artist Arturo Luz were
illuminated in purple from March 1-31, 2025 to symbolize support for women’s rights.
Images of the lighted structures were shared on PICC’s official social media channels and
reposted by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) in its official Facebook Page.
Advocacy and Awareness Materials
PICC disseminated information about Women’s Month through social media, LED screens,
billboards/banners, bulletin boards, and brochures employees, guests and PICC clients.
National Women’s Month Celebration Kick-Off Activity
Selected PICCI employees attended the National Women’s Kick-Off activity hosted by the
PCW on March 5. The event served as a platform to “promote gender equality, raise
awareness on women’s rights, and equip participants with valuable knowledge and
resources that can help improve their well-being and economic opportunities.”
Purple Wednesdays
Employees wore purple on all Wednesdays of March to demonstrate support for the
advocacy.
Music and Messaging
Empowering music was played every Friday within the PICC premises. An all-women
rendition of Lupang Hinirang was also played during the weekly flag ceremony to emphasize the role of women in national identity and development.
